Avery turns 3!

I cannot believe how fast the last three years have gone by!

Yesterday morning I was remembering how long I had to wait that morning before they'd let me come in to the hospital. I was scheduled to have a c section but they'd had some emergency c's that morning that they had to handle first. I hadn't eaten since before midnight the night before and in true form of a women who's 9 million months pregnant by 7 am I was starving!! The nurse finally called and told us to come on and in a few short hours, Avery Kate had arrived!

I remember thinking she was just the most beautiful little thing. She had bright red lips that looked like we'd put lipstick on them and hair that was a little redish at the time (funny thinking about that now).

We've certainly had some ups and downs over the past three years but I would NOT trade even a second of it for anything. Michael and I are stronger now as parents then we were without Av. God sure knew what he was doing sending us this perfect creature when he did!

Well yesterday, that creature turned 3 and what a day we had! We started off at Sweet & Sassy in Southlake with a few sweet girlfirends. The girls had their nails painted and make up done and strutted their stuff on the adorable stage! After their pampering we went to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. The girls all had a blast together! They ran all over the patio, played hide & seek and shared some yummy cheesecake!!

As if our day wasn't already awesome enough, we ended the night with a family party at Chuck E.Cheese. I wanted to do something else fun since cousin Adam wouldn't enjoy Sweet & Sassy with the girls :) It was his first visit to Chuck E. Cheese so you know he was in hog heaven!! He and Av had a blast and got good and tired out! My Mom, Dad & Ryan also came along and enjoyed the fun with us!

When we came home, we put Avery's new dollhouse together and let her stay up late and watch her new Minnie Mouse movie!!

We had such an eventful day and to think, we haven't even had her actual birthday party yet, ha ha!

Bluebonnet Baby!

This week I had really wanted to get some shots of Avery in the bluebonnets this year since we never had before. I bugged Michael about tagging along to help and he finally gave in (love you babe!) I just wanted him there to make sure we weren't about to sit on snakes or anything. I'd heard about a cool spot off 360 and Broad so we waited til sundown and headed out.

Avery is just at a point right now where she WILL NOT smile or even look at me for a picture, it's so frustrating! I managed to get a few cute ones of her but the majority of them are SOOO Avery!! She's having her three-year-old pictures taken in the morning with our usual photographer and I really hope that Av will cooperate for her, fingers crossed! Here are the best ones from our bluebonnet session.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter with your families!

Tornados in Texas!!

Well Spring is here in Texas and that means Tornados!! I hope everyone was safe and out of the way! Avery and I were out shopping at the Arlington Target this afternoon when the sirens started going off and whatta ya know, a tornado touches down right behind the building! The Target employees didn't seem too concerned (good or bad thing?) so we just continued shopping and waited out the storm.

We made it home safely and what was on our porch when we arrived home? A package from Mimi & Pappy!! Avery was so excited. She loves getting mail and packages. What kid doesn't? Inside were lots of fun summer goodies for Avery. What a great surprise!

 Avery gets a package!

Woo Hoo! Thanks Mimi & Pappy!

 Checking everything out!

The loot!

After dinner tonight, Avery decided to do a little gymnastics performance for Michael & I. It was really cute! Well next, she decided that she needed to "teach" Daddy how to do a flip. It was quite hilarious and I only wish that I could have gotten it recorded, lol!!

Like this Daddy!

Now you try!

Let's try this again!!

Long time no post!! Ha Ha!! I finally have a working computer AND now a super awesome camera that takes amazing pics!! So hopefully I'll get better about posting (no promises). The only topic that comes to mind tonight is my sweet Avery. She just amazes me everyday with all that she absorbs and says. Her enthusiam for all things in life is just inspiration. Michael was blown away recently because she's really begun to know the words to songs! Which is no surprise to me-since I'm always the one with the ridiculous memory that can recall song lyrics and movie quotes at the drop of a hat, lol!! She just so much fun and I'm loving spending my days with her. She's become my favorite girlfriend.
Here's that crazy gal on a recent shopping trip. She found this little wagon and was so excited that it "matched" her!
Not much new with Michael or me. I've of course already become busy planning Avery's birthday party, one of my very favorite things to do. We're also looking very forward to Michael's parents coming to visit for Avery's special day.
Happy Friday Eve!

BIG News!

Happy Wednesday evening all!

I wanted to share some exciting news with you (no, not baby no. 2 :) We are MOVING!! We're still in the buying process so we don't know when the move will take place, hopefully sooner rather than later but you know how these things go. The house is in Mansfield, close to Walnut Creek's golf course. We are so, so excited to make this move! We love ole' 215 Varsity but we're ready to move on, it's just time.

Front view. As soon as I can get in there again I'll post some more pictures.

Avery had her cardiology appointment at Children's in Dallas last week and all was great! In case you didn't know, Av's pediatrician thought that she may have a murmur and recommended that we see a specialist. The report was that she has an "innocent" murmur that many adults have but it's easier to detect in kids because their chest wall is so much thinner. The doctor assured us that is was nothing to be concerned about so we left the hospital feeling relieved :)

Hope you're all staying dry tonight.

Meg

Welcome!!

Hello to all our wonderful family and friends!!

I am so excited to finally be doing a family blog! I've wanted to create one for forever, not sure why I waited to so long??? We are currently in the midst of celebrating sweet Avery's 2nd birthday and what a time we've had. Michael's family came in Thursday and got to spend lots of much needed quality time with Av. On Friday, Mimi, Nanny and I took Avery and the boys to get their picture made and to the jumping place at the mall!! The sweet little cousins had a blast together all weekend long! I hate that we live so far away from them and could visit with them more often.

Saturday was Avery's big ELMO party! It was attended by many sweet friends and family as well as the big man himself! Avery was a tad apprehensive about going up to him but after a few minutes, she warmed up to him and even gave him a hug before it was all said and done! I couldn't believe it!

Bustin' a move with Elmo!

The big hug! Cousin Adam to the right.

Let's get this party started!

This is probablyl the very first party I've thrown where I was done with everything in time to get a picture before everyone arrived, no kidding!!
